HWHC: 2 vs Bowdon: 0
HWHC claimed a hard fought 2-0 victory over Bowdon in a gritty performance, with both goals coming in key moments of the match.
The first goal arrived in the second quarter, when Madi and Type combined well to create an opening for Les, who finished with composure to give HWHC a 1-0 lead. Bowdon responded with a few corner opportunities, but HWHC’s defence remained solid, and goalkeeper Mim was alert to keep them at bay.
The second goal came right at the end of the match from a penalty corner. A powerful backhand shot from the corner was deflected in by Goose, sealing the win and making it 2-0.
Throughout the match, HWHC pressed well, winning a lot of ball but being unable to finish the chances created. Playing around Bowdon’s press and exploiting spaces through the screens and midfield as well as good passing and movement. Despite some sustained pressure from Bowdon towards the end, HWHC held firm, with goalkeeper Mim making key saves to deny them any chances.
