HWHC M1: 3 vs Wimbledon M1 : 4
The first half between H&W and Wimbledon was tight with the score line 0-1 in favour of Wimbledon. However, H&W had penetrated the Wimbledon defence and demonstrated that there was the potential score some goals. After half time, this proved to be the case; three goals being scored by Shippo, Tim G-B and Steve in a great 10-minute period. The third quarter ended with Hampstead leading 3-1.
Four minutes into the fourth quarter, the momentum shifted to Wimbledon and in a 7 minute period, Wimbledon managed to score three goals. The H&W coaching team did all that they could to win the game, even taking Toby RC off for a period. Two late cards meant that the ‘keeper had to go back on and H&W lost the outfield player advantage. The game ended 3-4 to Wimbledon.
This weekend marked the start of a new coaching duo with Danny and Marc. Despite the loss, there were a lot of good passages of play. This new coaching duo will no doubt continue to build through Phase 2 of the league.
Congratulations to Jake on his league debut with the Men's 1s. Well played, in both games, against Wimbledon (preseason and league).
This Saturday provides the opportunity to build on the recent indoor league victory over OGs (6-4) and this weekend the game will be played in front of a home crowd.
