The last time the two sides met at Pad Rec, H&W came away from a very exciting game with an 8-2 victory - so you would be right to expect plenty of goals on this sunny Saturday afternoon.
A lot of early pressure from the students left Hampstead under the pump, but with some wonderful saves from MVP Miriam Pritchard the score remained 0-0 at the end of the first quarter. Amy Elliott went on to open the scoring in the 19th minute with a well placed bobbling shot beating the Notts keeper.
Esme Burge converted a short corner with expert precision and power, and this was shortly followed by wonderful strike from Hannah Davey in the 32nd minute. Going into the half time break the home side, now 3-0 up, looked very comfortable.
In the second half, Notts pulled one back through a PCA strike from Jordan Homann, but this didn’t phase the home side as two minutes later Holly Hunt scored Hampstead’s fourth and final goal of the game. FT 4-1 to the girls in stripes - back at Pad Rec and back to winning ways for the Ladies 1s!
